Elmos and odelo present a video clip, which shows an OLED rear light with its various control possibilities and light effects. The video clip shows a rear light demonstrator, which was built for presentation purposes. The rear light is controlled by a programmable 8-channel Elmos LED driver.
This IC can be programmed via a bus. Both the master current source and individual PWM values of each of the 8 high-side outputs are adjustable. Each channel can deliver up to 50mA, if higher current is needed the channels can be bundled. Through local networking, individual strings can be efficiently combined with multiple clusters without the need for additional clusters. In addition, a high degree of diagnostics is available for over- and undervoltage at the input, temperature, LED forward voltage and single open / short detection of each output.
In addition, the value of the master current source and the PWM trim value of each output can be calibrated and internally stored in the EEPROM so that light losses by mechanical constructions or losses in optical fibers are compensated. Dimming by an analog voltage or by an external PWM is also possible.
The odelo Group develops and produces complex rear light systems for premium car manufacturers. With customers such as BMW, Daimler, Audi, VW and Porsche, odelo is one of the leading automotive suppliers in this business segment.
In its 80 years of company history, the odelo Group has developed into one of the world's most innovative manufacturers of vehicle tail lamps and is regarded as the technology leader in this field. From the full LED to the world's first OLED rear light in series production, there are decades in which the odelo Group has steadily expanded its product segment.
The Sales and Engineering Center is at the heart of the vehicle industry, in Stuttgart. Production sites are located in Geislingen an der Steige, as well as Prebold and Crešnjevci in Slovenia. odelo currently employs around 1800 employees.
