Sensor and ultrasonic evaluation as well as LED control in focus

Elmos will be presenting highlights from its product portfolio at the International Suppliers Fair (IZB) in Wolfsburg from 16 to 18 October 2018. The main focus is on fill level / flow / distance measurement based on ultrasound, ultrasonic parking assistance systems and the control and supply of LED rear lights. The features of the ICs are shown using demonstrators. You will find Elmos in hall 2 booth 2410.

Elmos also has the new IC E703.15 in its portfolio for level / flow / distance measurement based on ultrasound. The IC is suitable, for example, for flow measurement in pipes as well as for level and concentration measurement in urea tanks (AdBlue®). The IC forms a single-chip flowmeter solution with integrated microcontroller and minimal external circuitry.

With the ICs E524.08 and E524.09 Elmos presents another ultrasonic IC family for the ultrasonic parking assistance systems in the vehicle. Furthermore, these ICs can be used for general distance measurements in industrial applications (industrial robots, silo level detection, etc.). During the development of these ICs special focus was placed on an optimal range detection. Thus, the revised signal path currently allows distance measurements between 10cm to 600cm. With optimized system hardware and good environmental conditions, even longer distances are possible.

With the ICs E522.31/32, Elmos introduces a drop-in compatible LED controller family. The ICs are designed for input voltages between 5V and 55V and an output voltage of up to 60V in boost mode, and they can be operated – depending on the type – in single and/or dual LED chain mode. With an ambient temperature range of -40 to +125°C and junction temperature up to 150°C, these Elmos ICs are made especially for use in harsh environments such as automotive conditions or exterior lighting. Other fields of use are interior house lights and TFT backlighting. In addition to high robustness, Elmos offers a broad variety of demonstration circuits with different topologies, such as boost, SEPIC and buck-to-battery. The switching frequency can be freely adjusted to up to 600kHz by means of an external resistor or even be synchronized with other components in master-slave configuration. E522.32 two channel devices can be configured to even operate three light-functions in parallel, e.g. Day-running light, high-beam and low-beam with a single-IC integration.
