E520.47: Video shows semiconductors in ESP systems - development according to ISO26262

Elmos presents with the E520.47 a sensor signal processing IC for wheatstone bridges with SENT interface. The IC has been specially developed for the requirements of automotive applications. The design process was carried out according to ISO26262 to meet safety requirements on sensor level up to ASIL C. A highlight of the semiconductor is the low-noise sensor signal conditioning with two independent 15-bit delta-sigma ADCs for the acquisition of two resistive bridge sensors, including compensation and linearization. Possible applications include pressure sensors for brake, engine and exhaust applications.

A new video shows the IC in conjunction with an Electronic Stability Program (ESP): https://youtu.be/dl_kKnaf92k

Other technical features include e.g. two additional temperature channels with 14-bit delta-sigma ADC, allowing precise detection and linearization of various temperature sensors. In addition, the IC has extended functions for sensor and self-diagnosis. The maximum sensor sensitivity range is 3 - 112 mV / V and can be adjusted using a 31-step offset.

The IC is available in a QFN20L4 package or as an unhoused IC (bare die).
