Ultra-low- and differential pressure / Flow sensors / Pressure sensors for minimally invasive procedures

SMI (Silicon Microstructures, Inc.) is exhibiting at CompaMed 2017 in Düsseldorf, Germany. SMI will be exhibiting their full line of medical products, including ultra-low-pressure, differential pressure and flow sensors for CPAP, ventilation and oxygenators. Additionally, they will be showcasing their new IntraSenseTM line of pressure sensors for minimally invasive procedures. The show runs from November 13th through 16th, 2017, and SMI will be in Hall 8a / F34.

Dr. Justin Gaynor, VP of IntraSenseTM products, will give a presentation during the Compamed High-Tech Forum.

SMI’s AccuStable® line of fully signal-conditioned devices will be featured at the show. SMI now offers fully signal-conditioned differential sensors in pressure ranges from 125Pa to over 100 kPa. These product lines have recently benefitted from the addition of amplified analog output as well as 16-bit I2C and SPI outputs. These devices have found wide acceptance in respiratory applications, and are also suitable for dialysis, wound therapy, patient monitoring and gas cabinet safety.

Two new products will also be showcased. SMI will soon be launching flow sensors based on their highly stable pressure sensing technology for ventilation and respiratory applications. The IntraSenseTM product line will benefit minimally invasive surgical procedures by allowing pressure measurements directly in many spaces throughout the anatomy. It can move through tortuous anatomy to measure intracranial pressure, intrauterine pressure, endovascular pressure and renal pressure. Glaucoma monitoring, biopsies, emergency surgery and biliary pressure monitoring are other areas where the IntraSenseTM products might be used to provide the least invasive monitoring available.
